My First Talk at AWS Summit Jakarta 2025: Serverless Meets Quantum

Sharing my experience speaking about Amazon Braket and Lambda at AWS Summit Jakarta 2025 - plus meeting amazing people from the AWS community!

My First Talk at AWS Summit Jakarta 2025

So… this happened.

I gave a talk at AWS Summit Jakarta 2025. At The Ritz-Carlton Jakarta Pacific Place. My first time ever speaking at an AWS Summit. Still feels unreal writing this.

Serverless Meets Quantum

I gave my talk at the developer lounge. The topic? “Serverless Meets Quantum: Solving Complex Problems with Amazon Braket and Lambda”.

If you’re wondering what that even means… basically, I explored how we can use AWS Lambda (serverless, no servers to manage, just run your code) together with Amazon Braket (AWS’s quantum computing service) to tackle optimization problems that would take forever on classical computers.

Why do I find this exciting? Because quantum computing isn’t just some far-future thing anymore. It’s here. And being able to trigger quantum jobs through a simple Lambda function? That’s powerful. That’s accessible. That’s the kind of stuff that makes me stay up late reading documentation.

Standing up there at the developer lounge, seeing people actually interested, asking questions about quantum computing… honestly, that made all the hours of preparation totally worth it.

Finally Meeting Them in Person

You know when you’ve been following someone online for months, maybe years? Seeing their posts on LinkedIn, reading their Slack messages, learning from their content… and then one day you actually get to meet them face to face?

That happened to me at this Summit.

First, Jason Dunn. I’ve seen his name pop up so many times in Slack channels, read his insights, admired his work from afar. Meeting him in person? Yeah, I had to remind myself to act cool.

And then there’s Shafraz Rahim and Cathy. These two have been such an inspiration in the AWS community. Getting to actually stand next to them, have a real conversation, take a photo together… it hit different.

Oh, and I also got to meet Albert Suwandhi, an AWS Hero. This was actually my first time meeting him in person. We happened to stay at the same hotel, so we had some time to chat and share stories. Conversations like that… they remind you why community matters so much.

What This Meant to Me

Being at AWS Summit wasn’t just about the sessions or the booths. It was about the conversations that happen in between. Random chats with strangers that turn into deep discussions about serverless architectures. People sharing their projects, their struggles, their wins.

The developer lounge was alive with light talks, demos, people exchanging ideas. That energy is hard to describe unless you’ve been there.

What’s Next?

This whole experience… it sparked something. Speaking at AWS Summit Jakarta 2025 was just the beginning. I’m already thinking about next year. What topics could I explore? What else could I share with the community?

To everyone I met, everyone who came to my talk, everyone who said hi or took a photo with me… thank you. Seriously.

And if you’ve never been to an AWS Summit before, just go. The people you’ll meet and the things you’ll learn? Worth every minute.

See you at the next one 🚀
